How to Succeed in this Course
For You to Succeed in this Course, you Should:
- Our course is organized by Modules for each week, so click on Modules to the left and navigate our course that way.
- Each week you will have a To Do List that will map out what you need to cover. I've broken it down, I hope, in manageable chunks. The To Do Lists have the due date, assignment, and time on task. I see a lot of recommendations about setting timers for 45-55 minutes to work on items and then get up to stretch or take a little break, if possible. Since this is a 5 unit class, expect to spend 7-15 hours per week on it, not all in one day but in several days per week.
- Be online reading and posting in the Canvas website four to six times a week.
- Always annotate your readings in order to improve your focus and study skills. Students tell me this is one of the most helpful things for them to do--even if they learned it in high school and didn't apply it as fully
- Email me any time you have questions or you're just not sure what to do next: argyriouanne@fhda.edu. We will also have a Questions/Comments/Concerns Section for each week, where you can ask me and your classmates things that are unclear or fuzzy to you.
- Come to the Zoom Sessions:
- for EWRT 1AS.01 on Mondays and Wednesdays 10:30-11:20 a.m.
- for EWRT 1AS.02 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 - 11:20 a.m.
- These are required! (I also take roll, and we will be working on our assignments and essays in these.)
- And, turn on your video in Zoom sessions! (You can use the virtual backgrounds if you want or need.)
I look forward to meeting you online and getting to know you this quarter!
